Happy St. Patrick’s Day 3/17/12

It’s all about the green and Easter? Yes, I wished Summer at Happy St Patrick’s Day when she woke up and when we got downstairs she said “Happy Easter” to Tucker! LOL I explained that it wasn’t Easter yet (although we have been reading Easter books and stuffing eggs for Egg Hunts) and that it was St. Patrick’s Day! Pretty much she likes all the bling for St. Patty’s Day-headband, necklace and bracelet! I also included some of her art work from school. She does a ton and I have been saving it but realized I should start taking more pictures to share with you. It’s so sweet and she loves crafts!

Oh and a couple other things I keep forgetting to mention….She now calls herself Summer instead of Dummer and Tucker has been sleeping through the night for the last couple of weeks! Whooo hoooo! Only had to let him cry one night (he didn’t cry all night but when he woke up I didn’t go to him) and now he sleeps 11-12 hours each night! Summer was sleeping on her own by 3 months and he had gotten pretty good until he got RSV(beginning of February) and that just messed things up. We are back on track and Mommy feels better. Sleep makes a difference!

More Valentine’s Day!

2/13 and 2/14

By the time all the Valentine’s Day celebrations started Summer was all better and Tucker was getting there. Summer got to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Mommy and Me, school and with Mommy and Daddy! She thought it was Halloween and Christmas combined…all the candy and all the gifts! She got candy and gifts at all the parties and from Mommy and Daddy, Mom-Mom and Pops, Grandma Susie and Grandpa Max and GAB and GUJ (Beth and Jerry). Tucker got some things as well. Summer started saying Trick My Treat (what she says for Trick or Treat) and Merry Christmas! LOL She was a bit confused so we talked about Valentine’s Day and how it is time for spreading love! Well she did just that…everywhere we went she told the people we saw Happy Valentine’s Day and I love you! This includes Ms. Susan at the dry cleaners (who always give Summer a lollipop and if Summer isn’t there she leaves a lollipop in Summer’s car seat), the waitress at the restaurant, all of her friends, teachers and the list goes on and on. Summer was ready to spread the love! :)

Summer picked out this special heart Hello Kitty shirt to wear to Mommy and Me! She also had on her LOVE jeans.

In the morning, Daddy was Summer’s Valentine but by the time we got to school for the Valentine’s Day party Summer’s latest Valentine was Jackson!

As part of their party the kids got to decorate big heart cookies that Mom-Mom made for the class! Summer fully decorated hers and and soon you will see that she was one of the few 2 year olds to eat ALL of it! The girl loves sweets!

We had a family dinner at a local Mexican Restaurant! Tom surprised us girls with some cards and gifts! So sweet! Summer was very excited with all her goodies from Daddy and Mommy!

Sickness hits our house in February…..

So as many of you know Summer and Tucker were really sick after we got back from Indiana. We missed activities for over a week and Tucker had breathing treatments for 2 weeks. Summer had a bad cold and as she was getting better Tucker got worse. Come to find out he had RSV, which is a bad cold in babies, and requires breathing treatments and sometimes hospitalization to help get the babies better. Luckily, Tucker was able to get better on breathing treatments and some tender loving care from his family, especially his big sister. He also had an ear infection. Poor thing!

We are all better now but it seemed like we went from Indiana, to being sick to Valentines Day to now it’s March! And we even had an extra day in February this year!

Our little guy isn’t feeling well. Sleeping A lot and sucking on his thumb.

All the medicines I had to get for the 2 kids. We didn’t have any of it since they are never sick! Now I have my own nebulizer.

Passed out after his Dr’s appointment.

Breathing treatment time. This is how we started off the first couple of days. Then my friend, Kelly, who was a respiratory therapist showed me an easier way with a tube to give Tucker his breathing treatments. He didn’t mind too much but was much happier when I didn’t have to put the mask on him. Thanks Kelly!!

Thanks for all the well wishes and kind words while the kiddos were sick. I am so glad they are better!

Tucker is 5 months old!

Yes, my sweet baby is 5 months old! With his birthday being on the 30th and February only having 29 days (this year at least) I decided his 5 month birthday was on March 1st! So here’s Tucker’s puppy and quilt growth pictures!

Tucker continues to be a sweet, easy going, happy baby! You will see pictures of his latest milestone-rolling over. He started rolling over both ways within days of each other I guess he didn’t like being stuck on his stomach so he figured out how to get back to his back pretty quickly.

Tucker’s giggles are contagious and he giggles the most when getting his diaper changed or getting dressed. He “talks” with us and just started trying out his vocal cords with some loud noises.

Summer says Tucker is “the cutest in the world” and we might just have to agree!

One last thing and then I will move on…Tucker loves to grab his feet and put his feet in his mouth. His feet are a toy that is always there.

Happy 5 month Birthday sweet boy!

A “Surprise” Trip to IN!

Tom, the kids and I drove to Indiana on February 2nd to surprise Tom’s Brother for his big “4-0”. Tom and his brother are 8 years apart in case you are trying to guess how old Tom is. Anyways it was Tucker’s first road trip and our first taking both! It was a long drive but they both did great! There was just one time had to climb in the back between them to make everyone happy (plus Tom was on a work call so it was just easier that way). Summer was 2 years 9 months old and Tucker was 4 months old during this trip.

We got in late Thursday night and Friday was the day to surprise Joe! We went to a Mexican restaurant where he thought he was just having lunch with his wife, Kelly and his daughter, Hadley. SURPRISE! The Zimmerman’s were there!

It was also cousin Hadley’s 5th birthday so it was wonderful to get to celebrate that with her. This is the first time we have been there for her birthday. You don’t typically drive or really go to Indiana in the middle of winter! There was a little snow but not much!

We also got to see lots of family on the Zimmerman side which was really special. Everyone loved meeting sweet Tucker and seeing how much Summer has changed.

It was a quick but fun trip and we hope to see everyone again soon!

Yes, we woke up to SNOW one morning! Summer was thrilled! Luckily it was pretty we and was even raining while we were outside so it didn’t stop any plans and didn’t cause any problems for our trip back to GA. It’s been a mild winter everywhere!

Summer enjoyed the snow and making footprints and snowballs!
