Happy 2nd Birthday Summer!! May 1, 2011

The long awaited 2nd Birthday post!

I am sure everyone knows how busy this past week and really month has been. Since Summer's Birthday on May 1st we have celebrated my Mom's Birthday, my Sister's Birthday (Aunt Lis), I got a new car and we celebrated Mother's Day! In between all of those we had Mother's Day and Field Day at Mommy and Me and Summer's 2 year Dr Appointment! It makes me tired just thinking about it.

I did start earlier in the week on the blog post but had a major technical difficulty. I was downloading pictures when something happened to my memory card. Don't worry I am not crying as I type this...although it was a new memory card that I started using on Summer's birthday so it has ALL of the above events pictures on it. I have good faith that my sister's IT person is going to figure it out. So not if full panic mode yet.

Luckily, my Mom had a handful of pictures, at least from Summer's Birthday so you will get something to look at and not just a post of me babbling on! I will (notice my confidence) have some other posts on these events once my memory card is recovered!

As for Summer's birthday party it was fabulous! I think our sweet girl had the best time and all of her little friends did too! We had a backyard picnic with Hot Dogs (of course-Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog-that's the closing song of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in case you don't watch the show), hamburgers, Mickey Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches and all kinds of sides. Summer and her friends got to bounce in a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Bounce House, blow bubbles, play in a tunnel, use hula hoops and play with other various outdoor toys! We had toddler tables covered for coloring but it was so hot that the crayons started to melt. It was a high of 82 but I think it got hotter then that.

Summer loved the Minnie cupcakes and she enjoyed eating hers and then when I put down half of mine she gobbled that right up as well! Oh well she was the birthday princess!

Thanks to my wonderful husband, Mom, Dad and sister for all their help with Summer's party!

Here's some pictures of the fun day:

I worked hard on this Mickey Birthday banner that kept blowing around. I think in my camera there is one good shot of it up perfectly (thanks to my Mom) before it kept getting blown by the wind!

Food time!

Summer had on her birthday shirt-a number 2 with Minnie ears and her name written on it in the Disney font!

I think my "ears" were meant for the kids only! :) My sweet girl is 2!!!! Oh how the time flies!

The bounce house from above!

Tom even surprised Summer and I by wearing his ears! He is such a good Daddy! The food was wonderful and we appreciate all his hard word for the party!

Summer and Mom-Mom! Thanks again for sending me these pics!

The Mickey Cake and Minnie Cupcakes made by my Mom! Yummy!

Summer knows the Happy Birthday song. She thinks that we are singing it to her every time!
Of course this time we were and she was thrilled! Her hat matches her shirt!

Yummy cupcake!

After a bath, a nap and an outfit change it was time to open presents! Summer got this dollhouse from Mom-Mom and Pops!

Aunt Lis got Summer a Tag Jr and some fun clothes!

Mama and Dada got Summer lots of gifts but her big gift was a Barbie Volkswagen PowerWheels Bug. Of course I couldn't resist getting this for her (I had 2 bugs before my Mommy days). Summer loves it! She is still learning about the steering part but she really gets the foot on the pedal part!

Here's the one picture I did get downloaded before something went wrong! I love my family so much! Happy Birthday to my sweet Summer Lynn!

Happy 2nd Birthday Summer Lynn! May 1, 2011

Happy 2nd Birthday Summer!

We just can't believe that Summer is two today. What an amazing 2 years it has been and this past year has been full of more changes and growing up. She is always so busy and loves to do so much. Summer loves to play pretend...in her kitchen, as a dog, and with her Little People. She loves Mickey and Minnie and the gang in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She hasn't forgotten about Elmo. Elmo books are her favorite. She loves to read and has memorized parts of her favorite books! Summer knows the colors pink, yellow and purple. She mixes up blue and green and doesn't know red yet. She loves to sing songs and counts past 10! Summer is always surprising us with something new she knows.

Summer is also the most polite baby I know. She says please and thank you all the time. For Mama she has 3 names depending on what she is saying. Mama hears, "Thank You Mama" all day. When Mama sneezes it's "Mommy, Bless You" and when Mama tells her something it's "Okay Mom". Most of the other times it's Mama. It just the sweetest to hear everyday.

She melts her Dada's heart every day. When Summer says, "Please Dada" she can get anything. He can't say no to his sweet girl. I would say she has her Dada wrapped around her little finger. That just melts my heart.

Summer also has her version of I love you, "Lovey you". It is the sweetest thing to hear, especially when she says it on her own.

She continues to stay busy with "Mommy and Me", Swim Lessons, Gymnastics and Gymboree. She also enjoys playing with Emmy 2 days a week. She knows that we pick Emmy up at her school and every time we pass the school she says, "Get Emmy?". They have a lot of fun.

As you can tell Summer is talking more and more. Everyday she says something new and puts together sentences. She likes to tell us when she is excited to do something and asks questions. She also can tell us what she likes. Of course the word No is coming out of her mouth more as she finds her independence. Also with getting closer to being 2 and being a girl she is getting picky about what she wants to wear and what shoes. Not sure if I am ready for that. I have had fun dressing her up as my real life baby doll!

I guess I could go on and on about my sweet girl that I love so much. However, I have a fabulous Mickey Mouse Party that I must continue to get ready for! You know there will be lots of pictures coming soon.

Happy Birthday Summer Lynn Zimmerman!!!! We love you so much!!!

March 2011 and April 2011-Other Fun Times!

March and April 2011

There were so many fun special times the past 2 months that I missed some other pictures for the blog! I also don't have a picture to put on the blog yet but Tom and I along with some friends ran a 1/2 marathon. It was Tom's first and I am very proud of him. His time was good. Mine was no personal record but I was 11 weeks pregnant at the time and I am glad I finished without getting sick or stopping to go to the bathroom! LOL I was tired but I finished.

Summer's Birthday is coming soon. A whole year has gone by! Thanks for being loyal blog followers. You know I will have lots of Birthday pics coming!

A shirt from our Maryland trip!

Watercolor painting on a warm spring day with Emmy!

Summer had some bubbles in her eggs and discovered on this car ride how to get them open. A bubble came floating by me up front as I was driving. My camera was handy so at the next red light I snapped some pictures. Of course I didn't get any of her actual bubbles but they are cute just the same!

I didn't know that Summer would get a certificate at the end of her first swim lesson session so we took this when we got home. You can tell she has swim hair! :)

We have had such beautiful weather. It's been mid 70's-mid 80's for a while now. Sometimes I think it is summer time already. We are ready for the pool to open!

Tom got to take Summer to "Mommy and Me" last week while I went to my 16 week appointment for Lil' Pumpkin. They had a great time and Dada loved seeing what we do every week!

It was Uu day! Of course I have the cutest umbrella at home for Summer and didn't send it with Tom and Summer-prego brain!

16 weeks!

Lil' Pumpkin or Mini Z as Tom sometimes calls the baby is the size of an avocado. I compared pictures and this is how I looked at 18 or 19 weeks with Summer. Oh well! I am feeling better and love being pregnant. At my Dr's appointment I heard the heartbeat- 158 bpm and all is looking good! On May 23rd we will find out if Summer is going to have a baby sister or baby brother! I can't wait! It's a day before my birthday so it will be like an early birthday present!

Trying a new hairdo and Summer climbed up the bar chair on her own!

Back in March Summer got a medal for finishing another session of Gymnastics! She loves it!

This was the best picture of all these little ones together with
their medals! :)

Easter Fun! April 2011

Easter Fun!

Summer got to participate in 2 Easter Egg Hunts this year! She really got into them and understood that there are goodies inside the eggs!

"Mommy and Me" Easter celebration! Here Summer is doing the bunny hop with some ears!

Summer and her friend Addison!

Egg hunt time!

Wow! Look at these eggs!

This was the CUTEST treat a Mom made for our Mommy and Me snack. It is a Rice Krispie Treat nest with jelly bean eggs and a Peep on top!

The discovery that there are goodies inside the eggs!

Our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt!

Ms. Joanne dresses up as the Easter Bunny every year. This year she added some fun sunglasses!

Summer decided to run around the eggs (so well hidden) before the Egg Hunt started!

As she collected her eggs Summer was tried to open them to see what was inside!

A basket full of eggs!

There were also bunnies at the Egg Hunt. Summer loved them and was very gentle this year!

Hugs for the bunny!
