Merry Christmas 2013

P4

So I looked back at my last blog post-October 15, 2013. On October 18th, 2013 our life got crazy! I am including our Christmas letter for 2013 so you will be able to see why I haven’t been blogging!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hope to be blogging again more regularly come 2014 (since, I will have so much free time with 3 kids Winking smile)!

Here’s the photo we used this year on our Christmas card. I wanted to get them all mailed out before BZ3 arrives!

Daisy’s Christmas Letter 2013

Hello Again Family and Friends,

It’s me Daisy, the Zimmerman Family Beagle, to tell you about all of the events of 2013, and as usual it has been another busy year around here.

Summer, is 4 “and a HALF” (as she will tell you, so often that I even know it), and continues to be a sweet, smart, and cute little girl. She often protects me from the other kid- Tucker. Summer is a talker, she loves going to preschool and truly adores her little brother. She is in a dance class, goes to gymnastics and is even in an Etiquette class. The girl is busy all the time and I think she takes after Mom!

Tucker started going to Pre-School one day a week (which gives me a break for a few hours…). At 2 years old, he is one happy guy and has picked up so many new words. I am happy to say that “Daisy” was his first real word! He really does love me, however, I think he wishes I was a horse so he could ride on me…Sigh! Tucker goes to Gymboree once a week and enjoys going on play dates with just Mom. Unlike Summer, he doesn’t like to be “on the go” quite as much and like to be “home” so he can play with his cars and trucks (he also likes to play with anything he can get his hands on…). I have often heard Mom and Dad say, “he is all boy.”

Here is some exciting news, my Mom is expecting another baby (BZ3)! Yet again, it sounds like there is only one baby in her litter. The baby will be here by Mid-December. Summer was especially happy to find out it is going to be a baby girl, since she already has a baby brother. I have to tell you, this news was surprising for all of us. We have plenty of baby stuff for this new baby but now we are building a new house in our neighborhood and will be getting a new car. Now I know what Dad means when he says “Girls are expensive…”

Hmm, what else? Oh, Mom and Dad are doing great! They both started the year with some running. Mom ran in the “Princess ½ Marathon” in Disney World, and wore a tutu for the run. I don’t know who was more excited about that-Mom or Summer. Tucker and I stayed with our grandparents while Mom, Dad and Summer went to Disney to meet up with Uncle Joe, Aunt Kelly and Hadley. I know Tucker and I had fun, and it sounds like everyone else did too. Then in March, Mom and Dad did the Publix ½ Marathon in Atlanta, they do that run every year!

In the beginning of June the family took a trip to Indiana for a wedding and to visit family. At the end of June Mom and Dad went to London, England and they spent 3 days watching tennis at Wimbledon. They had a fantastic time, exploring London and watching some great tennis (Dad was so excited that Mom got them tickets to see Roger Federer play on Centre Court, even though he lost…).

Summertime was busy with play dates, camps for Summer, and friends coming to visit. Labor Day weekend the family went to Maryland to visit friends & family. Mom was so happy to see everyone.

October proved to be a trying month. A rabbit, at a local farm, bit off the top of Tucker’s finger. Now, being a Beagle, I have never been fond of rabbits. I try to catch them and bark at them all the time but now I really don’t like them. The poor guy had to have surgery to repair the finger, and seems to be doing well. His finger will always be a little shorter but it is healing and he has been in good spirits about the whole thing. About a week after rabbit incident, Mom got rear ended while waiting to make a turn. She’s is fine (she had to spend the night in the hospital because she was having some contractions). Later that same week Mom got the stomach bug and had to go back to the hospital. Mom and BZ3 are just fine. It was just a crazy 2 weeks for our family.

November was much better for us all! Everyone, except me and Alexander, the cat, got to go back to Disney, where Dad ran the Wine & Dine ½ Marathon! From what I hear Disney was just what everyone needed! Mom, Dad, Summer, Tucker, Aunt Lis, Mom’s parents, Uncle Joe, Aunt Kelly and Hadley all were there together.

December should bring us a new baby and wonderful Christmas memories!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Daisy (Me, the Beagle) Alexander (the Cat),

Jen, Tom, Summer, Tucker and soon to be BZ3!

London-End of June 2013

Tom and I went to London for a week the last week in June. We went for the Wimbledon Tennis tournament and to do some sightseeing. Tom travels a lot and earns lot of points. It’s hard that he travels so much but it does allow us to do trips for just us and fun family trips with the kids. We are really lucky that my parents keep the kids for us so we can have this special time together.

Here are some pictures that my mom took during their week with the kids. Mom-Mom, Pops, and Aunt Lis had some fun at some local parks, the pool, and having special treats! Looks like everyone had a blast.

Thanks again Mom and Dad for watching the kids while we went to London.

London pics to follow  after the kids pics!

After the changing of the guards we met up with our British friends Becca and Martin! So good to see them. I met Becca in high school when she came over here on an exchange student trip. She was at my friend Colleen’s wedding in 1999 and I haven’t seen her since. We connected on Facebook and then were able to meet up in London. We went to lunch, walked around and did some final shopping. So great to see them!

London was a great trip! We did it all!
