Here we go. I truly want time to s l o w down but I am slowly learning it doesn't. Piper is turning 4. It's here and it's been fast!

The sassy and sweet girl is about to exit the 3's and being a "threenager"...right? Time will tell for sure. You are strong, kind, stubborn, sassy and beautiful. You are confident and caring. You are a Daddy's girl and know it. And to be honest Mommy loves that! You have his eyes and he is pure magic to you. 

As you moved into your 3's this past year, you finished 2 year old preschool and moved into starting the 3's in the fall. You know all your letters and sounds and want to learn with Tucker (who is in Kindergarten at the Elementary school now). Show and Tell is your favorite and you know exactly what you want to bring in. You also started dance this year. The focus is ballet but I see some Hip Hop in your future. You have rhythm and naturally dance to music and your own beat or songs. Aunt Lis got your a Karaoke machine and I can tell that it is going to be a big hit!

2 big things this past year-Disney and our Lake House with our boat.
In the fall and winter we went to Disney a lot. We went for your 3rd birthday, and back again at Christmas. Mommy ran the Princess 1/2 with Aunt Lis so we went in February and back again for Spring Break. We took a Spring/Summer break and went to the Lake a ton. More about that soon!
Mommy and Daddy took just you on a special Disney trip this past fall and it was pure Magic! We met every princess and did everything you wanted to do. Your love of the princesses and the way your eyes lit up when you saw them, talked with them or danced with them was priceless. 3, almost 4 is the perfect age for Disney. Let's face it our family loves Disney so any age is fantastic!

Right after you turned 3 we bought a Lake House on Lake Harwell in South Carolina! It's been a lot of fun fixing it up and having a place with our own dock for our boat. You have grown a lot in your love of boating. You started the summer by not wanting to swim on your own (with a life jacket) to a month in, swimming on your own and going with Summer and Tucker to land. You not a huge fan of tubing or water sports yet but you take the best naps on the boat.

You and I went on a trip to the Ocean City, Maryland together this past summer. It was your first flight and while Mommy may have sweated it out a little you did great. You had a great time on the beach and enjoyed your time with Aunt Janna and "hers" baby. Baby Dominic is such a cutie and Mommy was so happy to meet him. We also saw some other Maryland friends (Aunt Jessica, Aunt Erika and Aunt Colleen and their families). It was a great trip for us!

You have all your words and pick up on everything. Smart, sweet and sassy all rolled up in one. You still mix up pronouns and we love it-"thems come to my house". Hers really funny! We will hold on to these for as long as we can. You say "I-owl" for owl. You also say every night "Send Daddy In" and you and I say, "Night Night I love you" over and over, even as I close the door.
You love pockets on your dresses and clothes and are picky about what you wear. I try the 2 choices thing that worked pretty well for your sister and brother but somehow doesn't work for you.

You have renamed your Elf every year it has come-Elf, Minnie and now Belle. Belle is your favorite Princess and your had a Belle birthday party along with SNOW! Yes, we had snow in GA at the beginning of December. You didn't fully realize that Belle was supposed to come but couldn't make it because of the snow and ice. You did pick up on something and asked me what princess was coming? Mommy played it off and you had the best princess 4th birthday party with 10 sweet princess friends!
Summer, her friend Nora, and Mom-Mom helped and it was a fun dancing, playing, coloring, and nail painting time. Princess Perfect!

I am glad we had some snow as you think it should snow on Christmas. You even asked me if was Christmas because of the snow.

Babies are your favorite toy still. You sat on Santa's lap this year and talked to him!!!! It was precious. You got a little shy when talking with him and when he asked what you wanted you didn't say much. So he suggested a doll so now you are waiting on Santa to bring you a Christmas Baby doll!

We love you with all our heart, our Little. You will always be our Little! You give the best hugs-you even give big hugs and little hugs. You cuddle as well!

Time flies when you are having fun- I think this fits you perfectly! You are so fun loving and passionate about life it's hard to keep up with! 

This past year you have finished Pre-K at Celebration and started Kindergarten at Spout Springs Elementary. Your Pre-K year was wonderful and you had a special bond with your assistant teacher, Ms. Jackie. It was so bittersweet to watch you graduate and give Ms. Dayna a hug. You had 4 amazing years at that preschool and we just want to keep you little!

You started Kindergarten in August and you have the same K teacher that Summer had-Mrs. Smathers. You are taking every little last detail in. You want to learn and love to play sight word games and read. You even like to make Mommy worksheets to complete based on activities you have done at school!

Since last year you have become even more of an expert wake boarder and continue to love all things lake. We bought a lake house in December and that has been one of your favorite places to be. Fishing, collecting frogs, collecting rocks, tubing, swimming and wake boarding. You belong at the lake!

We also renewed our Disney annual passes in November and used them until Spring when it was warm enough to go out on the boat. You have gotten into Star Wars and your favorite Disney experience this past year was Jedi Training. You took it very seriously and did a great job. You also discovered that you like "Test Track" and that is your favorite. 

As for sports you continue to take Karate at the DoJo and have moved up to Jrs 2. You have played baseball for I9 and now T-ball for Mill Creek. Your team won the championship in the Spring. Your team is doing great this fall and you are hitting so much more off of pitches. We are so proud of you. You also have taken tennis lessons and like to practice golf at the driving range with Daddy. You seem to like all things "active" and you want to do it all!

You love the color orange, cooking, baking, crafting and working on Legos. You are a busy busy little boy! 

You love with all your heart and as active as you are you are always the first one there for a hug or a cuddle and you love to help others. You play great with both of your sisters and truly look out for Piper. You make my heart happy!

Your requests for your birthday celebrations were endless..... trampoline jump place, ice cream at Juke and Jive, dinner at Cabos, hit golf balls at the driving range and more. So you are having a small party at Get Air- a trampoline and Ninja style place and we are doing a lot of these others at different times! I love you Tucker!

6.....SIX....I can't believe it. I love you so much Tucker David. I am so happy to be your Mommy and watch you grow up!

Eight Feels Great!

I love love love love love you Summer!

As I work on this draft of your Birthday Blog you are swimming in the lake and using your imagination with Tucker (5 1/2). You have the biggest heart ever!

What a year it's been for you! You finished first grade and celebrated your 7th birthday in Chicago! 

Then you had a fun summer on the lake in our boat, cheer camps and tennis! Even a week at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. 

Then in the "fall" (August) you started second grade you cheered again for the Jr Falcons, took a class at Ms.Heathers and had some more tennis lessons!

This was a fantastic year for you in school! You grew in your confidence to read and improved your writing. Math seems to be your thing (which is good because it's not mine) and we couldn't be prouder of all your hard work. 

Your "Summer Sunshine" nickname continues to stand true with yellow as your favorite color. 

You are a lot like your mama. Take everything straight to heart and very literally. Your giggle is contagious. You have such compassion for an 8 year old. You appreciate quality time but sometimes get embarrassed by too much attention or praise. It's amazing to watch the person you are becoming. 8 enters the tween years and I see that as well. The faces and eye rolls that were never there before.  The confidence is still there and you are very happy to do your own thing and not follow others. We are embracing it all and love you so much!!! 

As you finish second grade and turn 8 you have entered a new phase in cheer- competitive cheer through the Zion Warriors. So this spring you picked up tumble again and really are getting good at it. Back walk overs, combinations with round offs, bridges and more. I am trying to learn the terms etc but am impressed with what you can do. You also started tennis lessons again. 

You still love American girl. Maybe not as much as last year but we had the warmest winter ever and we played outside a ton. 

We also got a lake house in December so we have been at that a lot, updating it so while there we've been outside playing, crafting, playing games and Disney movie watching.  Even several boat rides so far (not bad for April). 

Speaking of Disney we got annual passes again in November and we have used them 5 times. We are on a 6 month lake/boat break but has been fun. Piper is getting so into it and I feel it has renewed your princess interest and you love meeting them again with Piper. 

I can't remember when you started riding Rock'n roller coaster but it's a big favorite with you and your Daddy! When in Epcot we have to go to Paris to get you a dessert and you and Tucker tried Jedi Training this year. 

We just had your 8th birthday party! A sleepover with 14 of your closest friends! It was so much fun! Mommy's a little tired (ok maybe a lot tired) but your happiness and appreciation meant so much. 

I wrote this post while laying on our dock. It's time for snacks and my attention.

My baby is turning 3!!! I can't even express how my heart is racing and my eyes are filling up! It helps a little that I am doing this post early since we are leaving for Disney today (12/8) for Piper's 3rd Birthday! We will be celebrating at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on her birthday and we haven't been to that party yet and can't wait!

 

Oh our sweet and sassy Little you are well loved by all! You are kind and have a big heart. You also are stubborn and what I believe is coming is the "threenager" year. You are so articulate and know exactly what you want. You get this twinkle in your eye and I know you are up to something!

 

We have spent the past week celebrating you and your 3rd birthday. Mommy tried to get 3rd birthday pictures taken but you were a stinker and did not want to have your pictures taken and the photographer didn't get a single one.

Mommy got 2! Here they are:

 

 

You love love love babies. It is your favorite thing to play and do. You take care of your Bitty Baby by changing her, rocking her, taking her for walks, feeding her and more. You even want to be a Mommy when you grow up. This melts my heart. You love all baby dolls that you come in contact with. Baby even sleeps with you and you cover her with 2 blankies

 

You also adore your big brother and he adores you. He holds your hand and walks you into school and is always looking out for you. Summer and you get along as well and you like it when she plays babies or American Girl with you.

 

Preschool is going great! You are learning so much it amazes me. You know your letters and sounds. You love the P sound so much since it's for Piper that you asked Santa for P penguins for Christmas. I can't wait to see what he brings for you!

Now you didn't actually ask him because he is not your favorite guy. Here's when you met him this year:

You don't like to eat breakfast. Well you will eat it but it needs to be 10am. Your brother and sister are huge breakfast eaters so this is new to me. However, you are the best dinner eater and most of the time eat double what Tucker eats for dinner! LOL

 

You also want to stay Little. Little is your nickname that Daddy gave you and you have decided that you are staying that way. That works out pretty well for us except you don't want to potty train. You know when you go and ask me to change your diaper. You just don't want to be a big girl or wear big girl underwear. That's ok. I know by Kindergarten (well hopefully by your next birthday) you will be potty trained! You just stopped napping. My longest napper yet. You are even still in your crib and have only crawled out once (during a nap you didn't want to take).

 

Speaking of Daddy, you are a true Daddy's girl! You can get away with anything with him. He tells you to do something and usually do it but if not you just say "I love you Daddy" with your sweetest eyes. Melts his heart. You also ask for him every night at bedtime- "send Daddy in"!

 

You happily and sweetly tell us you love us and I am so glad you are filled with such love!

Sweet Puppy is still your favorite!

Five is such hard birthday for me to swallow! Oh sweet Tucker how can you be 5?!?

I am so grateful that you are in Pre-K and still at your wonderful Preschool! Next year Kindergarten...I can't even think about it!

What a fun loving, caring, creative, problem solving boy you are! Your imagination is endless.

You love with all your heart and are all boy at the same time!

This past year was a busy one for you! You finished your 3 year old preschool year and as mentioned you have started Pre-K. You absolutely love to learn and have me give you homework when Summer does hers.

You continued to stick with Karate. You started at 3 and now a month ago at age 4 you moved to a Red Uniform. We couldn't be more proud. You are focused and learning such good discipline. Tennis was fun for you in the Spring. You and Summer took lessons together!

This summer you went to Ms. Heathers summer camps and loved the math and science ones the most.

This month you started baseball and you love that as well! You have hit both off the tee and from straight pitch. You care about your team mates and love to practice. You even earned a medal and have been so proud to show everyone!

Disney was also so much fun for you this past year. We had our annual passes again until March and went several times in the fall and then again in February. Your favorites continue to be Toy Story Rides. You have also recently gotten more into Star Wars and you are looking forward to doing Jedi Training when we go back next! You also will get to pin trade (Mommy's rule is that you have to be 5 to pin trade).

In April we welcomed a new puppy to our house-Hope. She's a rescue pup and she seems to think you are her puppy friend. You are always on the floor or laying with her. You love her and she loves you. Puppy Tucker has made more appearances since Hope arrived! You have been very helpful with her and hopefully she will learn that you aren't a puppy soon.

Then this summer we got at BOAT! And boy oh boy do you love that boat! You are meant to be on the lake and love everything about the boat. You don't whine or cry when you are on the boat. You are WAKEBOARDING!!!! Yes at age 4 you wakeboard. It is something to see. You love to wakeboard, tube, fish, swim, explore islands and drive the boat. You are a lake rat my love!!!

Your listening ears tend to still be missing but we are working on it. ;)

Tucker David you have my heart! I love crafting and creating with you. You love to "make something"- cook or craft.

You are your Daddy's partner and love to help him outside and practice baseball. You are lake buddies! Melts my heart!

Oh and you and Piper! You look out for her. She is going to miss you so much at school next year. She looks up to you and you take care of her!

You and Summer play well together- outside and board games. You miss her when she's at school and you are home (so do I. I wish she could join Fun Fridays with us).

My Tucker David-my boy with the biggest heart and who keeps us on his toes.

It is time now to finish up all the birthday traditions that I keep adding on to! I love birthdays!

This girl!!! This sweet, caring, ray of sunshine is turning 7!!! As her Daddy just said, "How can 7 years go by so quickly?"

I don't know either!

I do know this is one loved little girl and we love watching her grow up.

Happy 7th Birthday Summer Lynn!

You continue to be one of the sweetest girls we know (as long you are fed and have your sleep)! You finished Kindergarten and now are in First grade (less than a month and you will be mine again for 2 months!). This past year you started tumble, took lots of tennis, cheered again for the Jr Falcons (with some competitions), did a creative arts and writing class, swim lessons and you are taking an American Girl Etiquette class! Whew! Luckily not all at once and we work to keep a good balance. You are just like your Mommy and like to stay busy and on the go. Instead of being my social sidekick you are developing skills and learning new things with your peers!

Speaking of American Girl, that is your thing now! You have 3 dolls. I was so proud last summer when we were at the store and you decided to put back all the small things you were going to purchase (which add up) and save for a doll, Grace, instead. You saved your money and worked hard to earn her in the fall. Then Santa brought you Elizabeth (there's a good story on her that I will tell you one day). I love to see your imagination at work when you play with them. Your friends are in to them as well and that is fun!

Disney continued to be a big thing this past year as well. We renewed our annual passes and went just as much as we did the first year. Mine Train, roller coaster, is your favorite ride. You also really got into pin trading. Mommy got a bunch of pins and gives you 5 or so each time to trade. I think you have close to 75. Tucker can’t wait to join in on the fun once he is 5.

Last summer we went boating several times and you loved it. You could stay on a tube all day long behind the boat. Daddy grew up going to the lake every summer so we decided to get a boat. We didn’t renew our Disney passes but are looking forward to time on the boat this summer.

This year you aren’t having a big birthday party.You are going to Chicago, IL with Mommy and Daddy for your birthday! We are going to go Memorial Day weekend and you will get to fly there. We are meeting up with Hadley, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Joe and you are so excited. You will tell anyone who will listen! We are going to the American Girl Doll store when we are there. Your Cousin Hadley has told you all about it and you can’t wait to go to a double decker store. You think you are getting a new American Girl doll there but we are surprising you on your birthday with the doll. Mommy caught a sale and loves surprises! We are also surprising you in Chicago with a birthday lunch at the store! We will do some touristy things and see a Cubs game. We can’t wait to do all this with Hadley, Aunt Kelly and Uncle Joe!

You continue to be an amazing big sister and helper with our new puppy, Hope! That’s right we got another dog. We still miss our Daisy girl but Mommy was finally ok with getting another dog and the rest of you were so happy Mommy finally agreed! You play outside with your littles and take Hope for walks! Such a big help! You still hang with all the kids in the cul-de-sac, mostly boys but there are some nice new girls as well. Tucker keeps up with you on your bike now and it’s great to see all of you outside. The playground Daddy built continues to be a big hit and the fenced in yard keeps Hope happy to be playing with you.

I know there is so much more! Like you just lost 2 more teeth this past week (and you haven’t lost any since the first 2 last May) and yellow is again your favorite color! Ninja for your birthday dinner is your request again this year (but don't worry Cabos is still a big favorite).

You tell everyone you are 4 and will even show 4 fingers but Mommy just wants to freeze time and keep you 2! Your big brother wanted you to be 4 like he is he taught you to be 4.

 

You brighten our days and are genuinely happy. You have so many words and questions. Your favorite one is  "Where's Daddy?". You adore him so much (as he adores you). I truly believe you are a Daddy's girl and I love it!

Weighing in at 24 lbs and 34 1/2 inches you are still little but as I have said before you are fierce. You stand your own with your brother and sister and you don't let them do the talking for you. You look up to them both so much. You and Summer love to play dolls together. You love your bitty baby and have since summer time. You are a little mommy. You started a preschool, Mommy's Morning Out, program and your teachers (Ms. Amy and Ms. Kim who you adore) call you a mother hen. You are always looking out for the other kids and don't consider yourself a baby.

You are mommy's baby though and I love our time together. Sweet Piper, you have the most contagious giggle and are such a good listener! We all have our moments and you will carefully throw yourself down on the ground and have a fit. You recover well and quickly. Sometimes you are stubborn and want your way. 

With Tucker the 2 of you like to play outside. You like to swing and follow him around. You 2 a sweet siblings and friends. You look for him when he's at school and when you are sad you ask or him to. Tucker was your first word. I love your special relationships with your siblings.  

You love love love Minnie Mouse (maybe not in person). You call her "Innie" and it's the cutest thing. You had a Minnie themed birthday party at Everland Play and we decided to have a dance party instead of having Minnie come. It worked out great and you had so much fun playing and dancing with your friends and family.

You also love Disney and I think really understand it. You love to ride Dumbo (also Tucker's favorite) and any of the rides with boats. You will happily wave to the characters from afar but don't enjoy being by them yet.

You eat almost anything and broccoli is your favorite. Summer and Tucker pass you theirs and you eat it up. Your favorite sweet is chocolate. You will do anything for more chocolate.

Piper, you love to sing and dance. Your favorite song right now is ABC's and you will sing it, ask for it to be sung or play it on your toys to dance to all the time.

We love you so much Piper Leigh! Happy 2nd Birthday!
