After the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt Tucker was tired so he took a nap and Summer and I headed outside to dye some Easter Eggs! Our family has a tradition of “picking” eggs. It’s a Baltimore thing that my Dad grew up doing and we have done every Easter. No one around here has heard of it and we love telling everyone about it. And Summer remembered from last year and couldn’t wait to dye eggs so we could “hit” them. Picking eggs isn’t peeling the eggs to eat them. Everyone in our family has several eggs. One person holds their egg and the other taps each end of their egg on the others. Whoevers cracks loses. The egg that has an end that never cracks is the winner. IT’s usually Dad!
You will have to wait for the Easter Day post to see how it worked out this year.
Easter Egg dying in preparation for the “picking” game.
Getting ready and getting started!
A good start! We worked on 18 eggs that day!
Egg dying is a messy job but someone has got to do it!
Silly pictures of the girls after we finished dying and decorating the eggs.
So as we finished Tucker woke up. We quickly rushed to get all the dye cleaned up so Tucker could join us outside and not look like a dyed Easter egg himself. Well in this process I set the eggs in the garage and completely forgot about them. Oops!! While we could still pick our eggs there would be no eating them or egg salad or anything with the 18 eggs we boiled and decorated. Oh well. There was still fun to be had!
Easter day up next!!!!
