Merry Christmas! December 2009

Merry Christmas! Here's our family letter written by our beagle, Daisy. Then tons of Christmas pictures of Summer follow. Believe it or not she has 2 more outfits she hasn't wore yet for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Enjoy!

Dear Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Georgia! I know I haven't written since last year, if you had to stick postage on and lick envelopes with only your paws, you would understand.

2009 has proven to be very busy and full of excitement around our house. Most importantly, my Mom had her first litter on May 1st. My sister, Summer Lynn Zimmerman, has been living with us for the past 7 1/2 months. Fortunately she hasn't created much stress for me or my brother Alexander. For the most part, she has slept through the night and doesn't fuss very much. Summer sure has changed a lot since she first came home. At first she was real little and slept a lot, but now she is bigger and on the go. She is crawling everywhere; she also thinks my brother, Alexander, and I are here to entertain her. She really does make my Mom and Dad very happy, which makes my tail wag.

Since Summer has come to live with us, my Mom hasn't been working, so I haven't had to spend nearly as much time in my kennel during the day. Even though she isn't working Mom has managed to stay very busy between taking care of Summer, tennis, playgroup, neighborhood activities, and keeping Dad in line (she still finds time to take me for walks throughout the day too!). Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Mom is training for a 1/2 marathon in March. She sure seems to stay on on the go! I can tell Dad really admires Mom and everything she does.

Dad has stayed busy with work this year, between traveling across the Southeast and getting ready for Summer to arrive. He has successfully finished building his office in the basement and remodeled his old office into Summer's kennel. Her kennel is called a nursery and much bigger then mine! Dad was able to spend some time at home for a couple of weeks after Summer was born to "help make the transition". I think he really just wanted to hang out with me.

I am so proud of my Dad, not only did he stay active with tennis and was involved in the neighborhood this year, but he got his bicycle out of the basement and started riding again. He logged over 1500 miles, and rode his 1st century (100 mile ride) with Uncle Jerry and our neighbor Kim. For Labor Day weekend, Mom, Dad and Summer traveled to Savannah with some friends, Michelle, Aaron and baby Carrington so dad could ride his 2nd Century bike ride.

Dad recently accepted a new job based out of Atlanta with a company called Boral. Both Mom and Dad are excited for his new job, as he won't be traveling as much, and it is a "step-up" for Dad.

While this year has flown by, it has been very eventful. There has been a lot of activity between visitors and packages arriving for Summer, and we really appreciate everyone's support (even though the UPS man drives me crazy). We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a great 2010.

Love,

Me (Daisy), Alexander, Jen, Tom, and Summer (Baby Z)

Michelle and Carrington sent this sweet tutu to Summer for Christmas. You can get one in any combination of colors at http://www.beaututuful.com/ Check them out! So CUTE!!

Thanks Michelle and Carrington!

Thanks Ms. Beth for these cute tights!

So guess who is in the Santa costume? Tom? Nope! It's my Dad, Summer's Pops. Summer really didn't know what to think, but once Pops, I mean Santa, started talking she was fine.

Mommy, Summer and Santa

Thanks Cousin Terri for such a cute dress (and hat)!

This adorable skirt was made by my friend Melanie. You can check out her blog at http://www.grettalaruedesigns.blogspot.com/
So so cute!

Our friend and neighbor Ms. Joanne made these special "Thank You" bloomers and First Christmas blanket for Summer. I had the idea that for Summer's thank you cards she would have the bloomers on. Well after about 45 minutes and close to 200 photos taken by me at our house I decided to go somewhere and have them done. Here's a sneak peak at what I got!

The actual pictures I used for the Thank You cards are not shown!

Here's more pictures from Summer's 6 month photo shoot.
These are the ones I chose from for our Christmas card.

This was in November when Summer met Santa for the first time. She did a great job!

We might not have it all together but together we have it all!

December 8th -18th
So yeah this holiday season has left me feeling a little frazzled. I still have some cards to mail and lots of shopping to do! However, we may not have it all together this year but together we really do have it all. Tom started a new job and is so happy and I continue to love every minute of being a Mommy to Summer and getting to stay home with her. I am just trying to take it all in and let things go! For those of you that know me that's not always an easy thing to do.
Last weeks blog posting was of her 6 month photos. This week is a typical update. I am also working on a Christmas Picture blog update. I have Santa pics, some Christmas 6 month photos, and more!
Hope this Christmas season is going well for you! Remember, it will all get done! :)

My friend Melanie and I have been helping each other out with our babies. On Tuesday she watched Summer for me while I went to Boot camp and on Thursday I watched Lawson for her so she could go to her other son's Christmas Party. As you can see Summer and Lawson had the best time hanging out together.

"So Summer, I really like your dog Daisy".

They both liked chewing on their bells.

So Tom and I took a 2 day trip to Nashville, TN. This was the first time I had spent a night away from Summer. I actually did really well.
Summer stayed with my Mom and Dad and Ms. Nancy and Mr. Ron.
Of course I had to get Summer something while we there and I thought a cowgirl hat was perfect and pink too!

Thanks Mommy and Daddy! I love it!

Here are Tom and I on a riverboat ride through our hotel-The Gaylord Opry. It was like a miniature version of Disney World. We had a great time!

Hanging out with Aunt Lis!

Playing on the outside of her exersaucer.

Summer discovers the Christmas tree! Between Summer and Alexander (the cat) we have had lots of ornaments "fall" down.

Summer has been able to pull herself up for several weeks now. This past week she started furniture surfing. Our couch is perfect for furniture surfing!

Summer decides to visit Alexander on the chair!

I got Summer this sock monkey at an ornament exchange. It had an ornament string on it that I cut off so it could be her Christmas lovey! So fun!

Hey Mommy, what are you doing on the computer? (Looks like I was updating Summer's blog!)

I love my Aunt Lis!
