Merry Christmas! December 2009

Merry Christmas! Here's our family letter written by our beagle, Daisy. Then tons of Christmas pictures of Summer follow. Believe it or not she has 2 more outfits she hasn't wore yet for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Enjoy!

Dear Family and Friends,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Georgia! I know I haven't written since last year, if you had to stick postage on and lick envelopes with only your paws, you would understand.

2009 has proven to be very busy and full of excitement around our house. Most importantly, my Mom had her first litter on May 1st. My sister, Summer Lynn Zimmerman, has been living with us for the past 7 1/2 months. Fortunately she hasn't created much stress for me or my brother Alexander. For the most part, she has slept through the night and doesn't fuss very much. Summer sure has changed a lot since she first came home. At first she was real little and slept a lot, but now she is bigger and on the go. She is crawling everywhere; she also thinks my brother, Alexander, and I are here to entertain her. She really does make my Mom and Dad very happy, which makes my tail wag.

Since Summer has come to live with us, my Mom hasn't been working, so I haven't had to spend nearly as much time in my kennel during the day. Even though she isn't working Mom has managed to stay very busy between taking care of Summer, tennis, playgroup, neighborhood activities, and keeping Dad in line (she still finds time to take me for walks throughout the day too!). Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Mom is training for a 1/2 marathon in March. She sure seems to stay on on the go! I can tell Dad really admires Mom and everything she does.

Dad has stayed busy with work this year, between traveling across the Southeast and getting ready for Summer to arrive. He has successfully finished building his office in the basement and remodeled his old office into Summer's kennel. Her kennel is called a nursery and much bigger then mine! Dad was able to spend some time at home for a couple of weeks after Summer was born to "help make the transition". I think he really just wanted to hang out with me.

I am so proud of my Dad, not only did he stay active with tennis and was involved in the neighborhood this year, but he got his bicycle out of the basement and started riding again. He logged over 1500 miles, and rode his 1st century (100 mile ride) with Uncle Jerry and our neighbor Kim. For Labor Day weekend, Mom, Dad and Summer traveled to Savannah with some friends, Michelle, Aaron and baby Carrington so dad could ride his 2nd Century bike ride.

Dad recently accepted a new job based out of Atlanta with a company called Boral. Both Mom and Dad are excited for his new job, as he won't be traveling as much, and it is a "step-up" for Dad.

While this year has flown by, it has been very eventful. There has been a lot of activity between visitors and packages arriving for Summer, and we really appreciate everyone's support (even though the UPS man drives me crazy). We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a great 2010.

Love,

Me (Daisy), Alexander, Jen, Tom, and Summer (Baby Z)

Summer's 7 month photo shoot:

Michelle and Carrington sent this sweet tutu to Summer for Christmas. You can get one in any combination of colors at http://www.beaututuful.com/ Check them out! So CUTE!!

Thanks Michelle and Carrington!

Thanks Ms. Beth for these cute tights!

So guess who is in the Santa costume? Tom? Nope! It's my Dad, Summer's Pops. Summer really didn't know what to think, but once Pops, I mean Santa, started talking she was fine.

Thanks Cousin Terri for such a cute dress (and hat)!

This adorable skirt was made by my friend Melanie. You can check out her blog at http://www.grettalaruedesigns.blogspot.com/
So so cute!

Our friend and neighbor Ms. Joanne made these special "Thank You" bloomers and First Christmas blanket for Summer. I had the idea that for Summer's thank you cards she would have the bloomers on. Well after about 45 minutes and close to 200 photos taken by me at our house I decided to go somewhere and have them done. Here's a sneak peak at what I got!

The actual pictures I used for the Thank You cards are not shown!

Here's more pictures from Summer's 6 month photo shoot.
These are the ones I chose from for our Christmas card.

This was in November when Summer met Santa for the first time. She did a great job!
