Back in August we took a week long trip to Ocean City, Maryland. Many ask why we would drive all that way for a beach. Well it was my childhood beach. We went there almost every summer for 2 weeks at a time. I also lived and worked there for 3 summers in college. It has so many wonderful memories. Going to MD also allows us to catch up with lots of family and friends. It was a great whirlwind trip! There are so many pictures that I am sure there will be several parts to this blog! Here’s part 1:
So our trip to Ocean City actually started on Saturday, August 4th. We decided to drive to Roanoke, VA and stay the night and then finish the trip the next day. This worked out for several reasons and really helped break up the long drive from Georgia to Maryland! The second we got to OC we hit the beach!
Summer his her Mama’s child when it comes to the beach (and most things really) and was happy to stay at the beach and play in the sand and water all day long. Tucker (then 10 months) loved the sand and the baby pool filled with water.
Tom, the kids and I stayed at a Marriott on 15th street (got to love free rooms from all the points Tom gets when he travels) and my Mom, Dad and Melissa stayed on a condo at 18th. My Aunt Paula, and Cousin Sarah and family stayed on 28th street so we were all fairly close together and able to beach together daily.
Aunt Lis with Summer in the waves. Summer even let me take her far out in the ocean beyond where the waves crashed. It was a lot of fun!
Jason, Aunt Paula, Lis, Alex and Maddy
All that playing in the baby pool and chewing on Thomas trains wore Tucker out.
While Tucker slept Summer and Maddy took over the baby pool!
Mom and Dad coming out of the ocean. Love that they still hold hands! :)
Time for some boardwalk fun! Tom, Lis and I walked the kids down the boardwalk to meet up with The Sawyer Family.
Tom and Jason pushing the strollers (notice Lis and Colleen peeking from behind).
Leah, Summer and Sadie together again! I miss the Sawyer family so much and was so glad we could all be togeteher for a couple days at the beach. The girls have a blast together.
We met up with Cousin Sarah and her girls-Alex and Maddy to ride some rides. ALL SMILES!
If I were fancy I would combine this into one photo get get one of them both looking! I don’t have time to be fancy! LOL So you get to see both photos!
Tucker ended up with a bunch of crab/MD outfits. This one had a crab on the butt!
Ice cream time! YUM! Dumser’s is a tradition and Summer was happy to eat up some ice cream at 9:00 at night!
As we walked back both kids fell sound asleep so Tom and I stopped for a dessert of our own! Summer now uses that bucket to rinse her hair. ;)
