Donuts with Dad and a Play date! 3/5/13

IMG_6198IMG_6197

Back in March Summer had Donuts with Dad at her school! She came home with a special invitation for her Dada and he was delighted to go with her. “You Donut want to miss it!”

Dada came home with some special art-a picture of the 2 of them and a sheet that Summer answered questions about her Dada.

Here’s what was on it (her answers in bold):

My Daddy is a Superhero because…..

He is 12 feet tall (longer than me).

He weighs 14lbs.

He has brown eyes.

His favorite food is broccoli.

He goes to work at where the others work and there are pictures of me.

His favorite thing to do with me is take me to the car wash and takes me to his work.

He loves me more then all the hearts in the world.

I’m so thankful you are my DADDY!

I love you more than all the Sunshine.

Love,

Summer

Summer thought it would be nice to include Tucker in a couple photos with Dada as well!

IMG_6233IMG_6238

While Summer and Dada were at school enjoying donuts Tucker had some friends over for a play date! They enjoyed a snack and had fun playing with all of the toys. Summer had lots of play dates when she was little so I am trying to get some more on a regular basis for Tucker while she is in school! He always goes on all of our MOPS play dates and other weekly adventures but it’s good for him to have some on his own!

Garrett, Emily and Tucker had a great time!

Surprise! Surprise-Tucker emptied a cubby and climbed on it it! That’s my boy!

First HaircutS! 3/1/13

That’s right your read correctly that was haircut with a S! Both Summer and Tucker had their first haircuts together! Melissa (Aunt Lis) and I took the kids to go get Tucker’s first haircut. He was starting to get a bit of a mullet and we had Easter photos coming up. When we got their the hairdressers asked if Summer had ever had her haircut and I said, “No” and they told me it was time for her first haircut as well. I was prepared for Tucker’s but not for Summer so needless to say I was actually more emotional when she got her haircut. Crazy I know! Here’s how it went…..

IMG_6139IMG_6133IMG_6136

We already had to bribe Tucker with a lollipop! Here’s some before pictures. You can see how it was getting a little long. Come to find out he was growing his mullet on the left side. LOL

IMG_6141IMG_6145IMG_6148

So as we get Tucker all set up they convince me to let Summer get her first haircut as well. So now I am trying to get pictures of both kids getting their first haircuts at the same time! Tucker at 17 months and Summer at 3 yeas (almost 4).

IMG_6151IMG_6153IMG_6154

This kid friendly salon provides  car seats, lollipops, bubbles, combs and prizes at the end!

IMG_6155IMG_6158IMG_6159IMG_6162IMG_6165IMG_6166IMG_6167IMG_6168IMG_6169

Some progress being made and as Summer got more into it, Tucker got less into it and unhappy.

IMG_6172IMG_6173

Tucker’s finished cut! He looks so much older tome! Sweet baby boy!

IMG_6176IMG_6177IMG_6178

Summer’s first locks of hair cut off! Of course she had her princess crown on!

IMG_6184IMG_6187IMG_6188

Summer got glitter in her hair and her hair braded so she was quite happy with her final hairdo!

Aunt Lis with her silly munchkins!

Summer’s Certificates

Of course I had to have the First Haircut certificates. They were nice enough to spare me the overly priced package and sold me just the certificate. I really didn’t need them to take a pictures (as you can tell from my thirty some photos).

IMG_6193IMG_6196

Tucker’s certificates!

Also a side note-while I saved money on the certificates I thought I better get the 10 haircut package. It is a discount and was discounted more on this day. I used 2 of them for these haircuts and now I have 8 more. Well I thought that was great! My husband soon pointed out that Summer got her first haircut in 4 years so she is set (if she uses 4) until she is 20. This has become an ongoing joke in our house! I know they will both need haircuts more frequently now but I do hope my punch card doesn’t expire and that the hair salon doesn’t close down anytime soon! LOL I was just trying to save us some money! Ha-ha!!!

Disney Part 6: Run, Fun and Sun

February 24th and 25th

Our last 2 days in Disney and the final blog post! What a fun trip this was. It deserved all 6 posts! Smile I cannot imagine if we ever go for a week!

run7

Here I am after getting about 3 hours of sleep and getting up at 3:30 to run 13.1 miles! Crazy I know! I did get to wear a tiara and tutu!!!! So worth it to be a princess!

This is before the run!

run6

It was pretty dark up to this point and I was too busy running around other princesses or having to walk because (as you can see) there were so so so many runners. Over 26,000 to be exact! However, I would do it again! Disney races are so special and just so fun! So many people dressed up, music and of course princesses to meet!

run5run3

More views of the castle and the crowds!

run4run8

My first stop! I just had to get a picture with Belle in her formal dress in front of New Fantasy Land. It’s hard to see Belle now unless you got to her story time! I knew Summer and Hadley would love that I met her. Plus I had to meet at least one princess in my tutu! This stop made this particular mile an almost 20 minute one! OH well! No personal record set here!

run2run1

Once I stopped for one princess I decided it would be okay to stop again to meet Mary Poppins and crew. This gave me a moment to upload my Belle picture to Facebook!

run9

We started and ended in Epcot so here’s Spaceship Earth as we run back into Epcot and run the last couple of miles! An amazing race!! So glad I did the Disney Princess half! Another 13.1 miles under my belt!

IMG_6006IMG_6011

After my half I met up with Tom, changed and we headed into Epcot. Kelly and Joe had the girls and found the perfect Minnie ears for them! Kelly made the girls matching shirts and tutus! SOOOOOO CUTE!!!! Kelly and I even had shirts to match the girls! Here they are meeting Donald Duck in Mexico (in Epcot of course).

IMG_6019IMG_6021

Kelly and I found these amazing autograph books for the girls! There is a special section for about 8 of the princesses with their story, a spot for autographs, a spot for a picture and a little envelope for special items. It really is a great book. So the girls (well Kelly and I ) mad it a priority to get each of the highlighted princesses autographs. That meant we were on a mission and some of them are hard to get. Belle in particular. She wasn’t at the castle dinner since she is busy doing story time and she doesn’t do autographs at story time so really you can only find her in her day clothes at Epcot.

Luckily the guys decided to walk around and find a an adult beverage and stumbled upon the spot where Belle would be. They decided this would be a good spot to have their drink. So Kelly and I went running from the other side of the park to meet them to wait only 5 minutes and to be first in line to get our, I mean Summer and Hadley’s, books autographed!

Mission complete!!!

Plus the back of the book has lots of pages for other signatures. So we did every other page so I can add pictures of all the characters to Summers book!

IMG_6026

We got Belle’s autograph!!!!

IMG_6029IMG_6035IMG_6040IMG_6045

Sweet girls in their matching outfits!!!

IMG_6047IMG_6056IMG_6061IMG_6068

IMG_6069IMG_6076

Time for some fun face painting!!!

IMG_6078

IMG_6085IMG_6088

Here I am in my Princess half shirt with Summer’s Rapunzel hat.

Summer and I also got a picture together. I have my hand out like the princesses do when you meet them!

IMG_6089

So sweet!

IMG_6093IMG_6097IMG_6098

Since we couldn’t have possibly spent enough money yet or had enough souvenirs we went to Downtown Disney before we left! I got the girls matching 2013 Minnie's (last time I got them the 2012 ones so they just had to have these)! Summer also got a squirt from Uncle Joe to remember their Turtle Talk with Crush experience. Tom and I missed it but apparently Summer stumped Crush for a second (he is a digital interactive turtle) when she asked him. “what are turtles made of?”. When he recovered he told her “hopes and dreams little dudette”. LOL Only Summer!

IMG_6100IMG_6111

By for now Cousin Hadley and Disney! We had a magical time as always and we are so glad we could all be together!!
