Christmas 2010 and Happy 2011!

Happy 2011!
I have some updating to do. It's been a busy couple of weeks so here's a big catch up for you! We had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to the new year. We hope you have as well!
Summer continues to brighten our days! Her smiles are endless and her vocabulary is just picking up. Everyday she learns something new and it just amazes me. I think every stage she goes through just keeps getting better. She is so much fun and we are all so in love with her. She is 20 months old now!! Time is flying!
Enjoy our update and hope 2011 is treating you well so far!
Summer decided to help me with the vacuuming. Up until recently she has always been afraid of the vacuum cleaner. I think having her own to "help" with makes it better.

Summer received this early Christmas gift from Grandma Susie and Grandpa Max. Tom put it together so we decided to let her try it out. The table has been a big hit!

In the Christmas spirit! Summer had lot of Christmas outfits and this one seemed perfect to wear on a day with a high of 55 degrees!

Our tree was the only tree Summer would touch. She didn't touch any other trees-my parents, ones at the stores, at her friends houses etc. I think it is because she saw me decorating it and wanted to help. By Christmas day we didn't have quite as many ornaments at the bottom of the tree. :)

Not good back-lighting but a sweet picture all the same!

I fixed it but it was too late. Daisy was long gone and Summer wanted to look at me!

Summer decided to put these on Daisy. This time Summer ran away when I tried to get a picture of them together!

Summer is ready to see the Christmas lights at Lake Lanier Islands. At Lake Lanier Islands you get to drive through a massive park and see tons of lights. They have a shop, amusement rides and a place to roast marshmellows in the middle.
Do you like how Summer had to wear her new sunglasses? She did take them off once we got there!
Pops was our festive driver with his hat. Summer liked wearing hers as well. This is in the shop.

Grandma Susie and Grandpa Max came in this day from Indiana to visit for a week!

Summer was so excited to see everything when we stopped in the middle of seeing the lights!

Having fun with her grandparents!

Summer had a Christmas plastic bowl that she loved to put things in and this one time sit in!

Tom and I were getting ready to head out to a Christmas Eve Eve party (yes it was the night before Christmas Eve).

Having fun with some of her stuffed animals on Christmas Eve!

Reading a story with Aunt Lis.

On Christmas Eve Tom and I take turns reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to Summer.

Christmas morning! Summer didn't fully understand the Santa idea or why there were more gifts under the tree but she could feel the excitement and had the best day! I took some pictures of a sampling of her gifts. Her big gift from Santa had some damaged pieces (and we had to get some new parts) so you will see that later in this post. Summer didn't even notice she received so many gifts from everyone!

Helping Daddy open his card!

Opening what turned out to be one of her favorite gifts...

a tunnel!

It's Fred the bug! The tunnel has legs and comes with a cute face that can be a door on one end. Summer and Alexander the cat both are having lots of fun in the tunnel!
Summer really did well with opening presents this year. She just didn't understand why she couldn't play with them right away after she opened them. She would open one and we would have another for her to open. I think she was happy when they were all opened and it was play time!

After Christmas morning at our house we headed over to Pops and Mom-Mom's house to continue the fun.
One of Summer's gifts from Aunt Lis was a Thomas the Train Set. This has also been a favorite toy!

What a mess! We caught Summer trying to play in the middle of all this and thought it would be a fun photo!

Merry Christmas!

Another fun favorite was this shopping cart with groceries from Mom-Mom and Pops. Summer like to put her purse(s) in there as well like I do when we got to the store. She doesn't miss a beat!

Yay! The train set is out of the box!

After we all had breakfast at my parents house it was back to our house to do Christmas with Grandpa Max and Grandma Susie. Summer was ready for another round of presents. 2 favorites this time were dishes from Grandma Susie and Grandpa Max and her Little People House from Aunt Kelly, Uncle Joe, Hadley and Greg (they sent their gifts from Indiana).

Exploring the Little People House! It really is the cutest thing! Summer loves to make the Mommy, Daddy and Baby go to bed, eat etc. Imaginary play! :)

We had a wonderful visit with Grandpa Max and Grandma Susie. Summer even started to say versions of their names before they left. "SuSu" and "Mac" Very sweet! Come back soon!

This is Summer all ready to go to a friends birthday party! Sunglasses on and purse (with trains in it) on her arm!

Here's her big gift...a kitchen set! Santa searched and searched and then decided on this nice wooden one from Land of Nod. If you haven't seen Land of Nod products you should check them out. They are super cute and great quality. Mom-Mom and Pops got her a bunch of wooden groceries and other accessories from there to go with her kitchen. With her table, shopping cart, apron etc she is set. Thanks Santa and both sets of grandparents for helping with her kitchen area!

Bye for now! I am a busy girl!
