July 21st-31st
Tom, Summer and I went on a 10 day trip to Indiana, Iowa and Illinois.
Tom had a week long bike ride across the state of Iowa. Yes you read correctly-a whole week of riding his bike (road bike not a motorcycle) across the state of Iowa-474 miles to be exact!
While Tom was riding his bike with Uncle Jerry and Cousin Curtis Summer and went to Fort Wayne, Indiana to spend time with Aunt Beth (Uncle Jerry's wife), Grandma Susie, Grandpa Max and other relatives you will see soon enough in several blog posts.
Here we go......
Here Summer is having a treat and pretending like she is going to wear those earphones to watch her movie. We soon discovered she didn't like them and very much preferred hearing her movie throughout the car. That meant that Mama and Dada got to hear the movie too!
Summer was a good traveler though. We drove from Hoschton, GA to Indianapolis, IN and it about 9 1/2 hours. Her first of many long car rides to come.
This is the next morning before Tom and Uncle Jerry left to go to Iowa to get ready for their bike ride.
Summer had on her Purdue dress from Grandma Susie. I was saving it for when we were in Indiana. Tom graduated from there and was tickled Summer was wearing it.
Next stop: Fort Wayne, IN about 1 1/2 hours drive from Indy.
We arrived in Fort Wayne on Friday and were off the next day for Muncie, IN to visit Grandpa Max's brother, Uncle Jack. That was about an hour drive. Summer continued to do well! :)
We met for lunch and Summer was able to peal the crayons, eat grilled cheese, chips and applesauce. It was a fun visit for us all!
Aunt Beth had some of her baby doll beds refinished for Summer and Cousin Hadley. Summer go hers in June and Beth brought this one for Hadley. Summer liked trying it out for Hadley.
Summer and Cousin Hadley together again! They are the best of friends when they get to be together. It is the sweetest thing. Hadley is now 4 and Summer 2 so they can actually play and talk!
We went to the restaurant where Cousin Greg works to have lunch. Here are Joe (Tom's brother), Kelly and Hadley picking out their food.
It's a build your own stir fry place and was really yummy!
At this restaurant you put your name on a stick and after you have filled your bowl with what you want cooked you put your stick in it and they cook it for you. This way they know who the food belongs to. Summer liked her stick (more then her food I think).
