Happy 5 year Anniversary Husband! 6/30/12

This is a picture filled post! Tom and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in June in California!!! We had a blast! It was just the 2 of us and we could talk, hang out, catch up and just enjoy being together!

Tom had a conference in San Francisco so I met him there the Thursday before our anniversary. I explored San Fran while he worked and then on Friday we did walked around a little before leaving for Napa Valley!

We spend the next several days in Napa Valley and loved it. I would highly recommend going to those of you whom haven’t been.

It was romantic, adventures and the wine and food were great. I loved having this time with Tom and can’t believe it has already been 5 years! We have moved, changed jobs, had 2 kids and lived life to the fullest in these past 5 years and it is has gone by FAST! I wouldn’t change a single thing!

Enjoy our adventures in CA:

Day 1-Me exploring San Francisco on my own.

I had been before but it had been over 12 years. Hard to believe.

I decided to walk though the city to Coit Tower. I sure did climb some hills to get there! The Bay Bridge was easy to see but the Golden Gate was hidden by bay fog.

I climbed up lots of steps like these!

The left is what I could see of the Golden Gate Bridge and the right is Alcatraz.

We had lunch at a yummy café before leaving San Fran (Day 2).

I heart San Francisco!

Our sweet ride…a Mustang Convertible! I even got to drive it a couple times. Very fun!

On the morning of our Anniversary we took a hot air balloon ride over Napa Valley! Talk about amazing! Apparently it was one of the clearest day of the year. Our pilot was even taking pictures!

Getting ready to board!

Some views from above! Normally you can barley see the ground and you can almost never see all the other balloons!

Our pilot decided that since it was such a nice morning that we would go longer then usual and land in a neighborhood instead of a vineyard field! It was exciting to get to stay up longer and watch all the other balloons go down.

We ended up having an unusual landing in the neighborhood. We were supposed to land in a park but landed instead in the a cul de sac and the pilot needed some men to jump out quick to help move the balloon away from the power lines.

Sounds exciting right?

Well when Tom went to jump out a girl (wearing a sundress and strappy sandals mind you) got in his way and while trying not to kick her he fell. So that my friends is how we needed up in the ER (not enjoying the champagne brunch) on our Anniversary. It hurt Tom so bad that he thought it might be broken. Fortunately it wasn’t but it still isn’t fully healed over 3 months later.

Luckily this little adventure to the ER didn’t change our anniversary plans. We had a mimosa brunch at the hotel…that the balloon company covered because they felt bad. Then we still went to the spa, had an amazing dinner and saw the band OAR at Robert Mondavi vineyard! It was an overall great day minus the stop to the ER!

So not knowing Tom was in so much I pain I of course continued to have my picture taken and take pictures!

Our Happy Anniversary dessert from Brix! We also had the chocolate Crème Brulee. I couldn’t decide so I ordered both. The Crème Brulee was so good we came back the next night to have it!

We decided that the next day we needed to eat and drink our way thought Napa! We started off with breakfast at the Boon Fly. If you ever go to Napa you MUST eat breakfast at the Boon Fly and order the donuts. All their food was so good and unique!

Vineyard time! Take a look at Tom’s foot. It was really swollen.

We at lunch at Napa Style which is owned by Michael Chiarello from the Food Network!

We continued touring vineyards and eating! A very fun day indeed. The next day we stopped by the Boon Fly for breakfast  again and then headed back to San Francisco to fly back to GA to see our sweet kids!
