Tucker is 11 months old! 8/30/12

One more month, yes only one more month and our sweet baby boy will be ONE!!! Time flies when you are having fun and/or chasing 2 little ones around!

Tucker is still hovering around 20 pounds. I know this because the poor baby has had 2 ear infections this month with the latest one being in both ears and we they weigh him when we go in for our sick visit. Poor guy!

Tucker probably isn’t gaining much weight because he is on the move and FAST! He climbs up 2 flights of stairs lighting fast. He can stand for 10-20 seconds at a time on his own. He loves to push things and walk. His favorite being Summer’s baby doll strollers! :) We are going to get him a push train for his birthday. He still babbles his baby language but lots of us have heard him finally saying, “Dadadada”. All of us except for Dada of course. He just grins when we try to get him to say it when Tom’s right there.

He loves to do “Sooooo Big”, which Tom taught him. He also raises his arms up when Summer sings the song, “Starships” during the part “hands up and touch the sky”. Very amusing!

Oh baby love! For his 11 month photo shoot I did Ms. Whitney’s carnival mini’s. Here’s a sneak peek from earlier this week. So sweet (especially since Tucker wasn’t feeling great).

He was also pretty cooperative for his Bunny and blanket pictures this month.

Summer does Soccer Camp her way…..

June 25th-29th

So our neighborhood offered several summer camps this year. Summer only was only able to do one of them since she is only 3 and it was British Soccer Camp. I figured why not!?She loves being outside and doing sporty things. When I told her about Soccer Camp she immediately asked, “What tutu do I wear for that?” Hmmmm….good question!

Well I tried prepping her several days in advance about the shoes (cleats), the shin guards and the high socks since Summer loves to dress up in her cute clothes and shoes (or goes barefoot if she can). I even got the socks with pink stripes. I showed her the jersey that she got and felt like we were on the same page (no mention of tutus).

I was wrong….she woke up that morning with a plan in mind and a pink tutu in hand. Luckily I had an Adidas Soccer shirt (that came with some tennis gear) to go with her tutu and her pink socks looked great! She was willing to wear the dirty cleats (we borrowed them from a friend) because I let her wear her tutu. So that my friends is how Summer came to wear a tutu for her first day of British Soccer Camp.

I don’t know if Coach Kyle knew what hit him when Summer showed up with her tutu as he was about to coach her and 11 other 3 and 4 year olds. Talk about craziness! Most had never played soccer before and didn’t understand any soccer terms. Very amusing! I give Coach Kyle a lot of credit. He was super patient!

Summer did a great job the first 3 days but was not happy the last 2 when Mommy wasn’t there to co-coach (I helped out with terms like…. “little kick” instead of “dribble” etc.). Tom and I were away for our 5 year anniversary. Sorry she was a little difficult for you Mom-Mom those last 2 days.

Day 1: Ready to go in her pink tutu with her friend Addison!

I think she actually got it and was doing a lot of the kicking correctly! Go Summer!

Day 2: I was able to convince her to wear her jersey! She saw the other kids with it on Day 1 and decided to give it a try! Tucker had some snacks while watching big sister kick the ball around!

Day 3: She wanted pink again so we went with a tennis outfit. At least it was sports gear!

Summer with Coach Kyle!

Summer got a report from Coach Kyle at the end:

“You have always got a huge smile on your face and gave 100% effort. Your toe taps have shown great improvement with your balance using the soccer ball becoming better. I’ve had a great summer coaching you and hope to see you next summer. Best Wishes, Coach Kyle”

There was also a list of completed skills…..running with the ball, stopping, dribbling, turning, passing, kicking, tackling and attitude and effort.  And not surprisingly Summer did not complete understanding the rules of play! I don’t even think I know the rules of play for soccer! :)

Tucker-June 2012

So the last post was all about Summer (Rapunzel birthday) and the next one is all about Summer (soccer camp-stay tuned) so I decided that all these pictures of Tucker would make a great post on him!

In June 2012 he was 8 months old! Looking at these I can see how he has already changed so much in the past 2 months (he is now 10 months old).

These pictures show my sweet boy on the move! Busy busy as always. He started crawling mid May and then shortly after that pulling himself up and going up a couple stairs.

Oh baby love….

A Rapunzel Birthday Party

June 23rd

Back in June Summer got invited to a very special Birthday Party for her friend Hailey. None of the princesses or princes knew it but there was going to be a surprise guest, Summer’s favorite, Rapunzel!

What a great time everyone had! The kids were oh so surprised to see Rapunzel come in and Hailey, the birthday girl, was thrilled!

Rapunzel taught them how to be polite princesses and princes, how to dance, painted their faces, gave them balloon creations and read them a story. There was also coloring, making necklaces and snacks. A perfect party!

Thank Princess Hailey for inviting us to your 4th Birthday Party!

Hannah (Hailey’s sister), Sophia and Summer all had on their Rapunzel princess dresses. They didn’t know yet that Rapunzel was on her way!

Story time!

We had to sneak out of the party at this point. Ms.Jessica, princess Hailey’s Mom was really sweet to give Summer a goody bag and a cupcake to help the transition go better.

Side note…Summer is already talking about being Rapunzel for Halloween (thanks Babies R US for already having costumes out in July). I am thinking Tucker might make a cute Pascal?!? We shall see!

More June on it’s way and yes I know it’s August! :)

Father’s Day Weekend

June 15-17th

What a fun Father’s Day weekend for Tom. It included lots of his favorite things….his kids, his wife, his Aunt and Uncle, pizza, biking, an O’s game,  and grilling out! Life was good for Tom, husband, Daddy!

Happy Father’s Day to one great Dad and Husband.  You work so hard to take care of us and we appreciate you every day! You know how to have fun and love with all your heart! We love you soooo much!

These pictures are all out of order but I really wanted to start with the ones of Tom with the kids. They are what make him a Daddy. Summer was really into shopping and making gifts for her Daddy and this was Tucker’s first Father’s Day!

IMG_0410IMG_0411

Present time! You can see that Summer was ready to help open what she had just helped wrap! LOL “Daddy you’re the best!”

IMG_0412IMG_0414

Always hard to get both at the same time. So cute! Happy Father’s Day to one great Dad and husband!

Our Family-Tom, Jen, Summer and Tucker

O's game

A Father’s Day Orioles game! We were lucky enough to have the Baltimore Orioles playing in Atlanta on Father’s Day. What a perfect gift for my Dad and fun for Tom, Uncle Jerry and I to tag along to as well. Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful Dad! We sure had a great time at the game (and it helps that the O’s won!).

bike

Tom and I did a 64 mile bike ride with Uncle Jerry, Aaron Sims and Brian Oliver! So fun! I was only supposed to do the 28 miler and the men talked me into riding farther! I was sore but I did it!
